Project 35- A fundraiser for Jesus Helper's Children's Home

Meet the 35 children of Jesus Helper’s Children’s Home in Uthiru, Nairobi, Kenya (30 are pictured...!) They are charismatic, gentle, warm, kind-hearted, spunky, funny, genuine and loving kids. They all have different backgrounds. Some are orphans, others were being looked after by family memb...ers who simply couldn’t afford to care for them. The kids live in a rented apartment block with a dedicated pastor and his wife who are looking after their every need. They are aged between 2 and 18 years. I met them in March, 2011 and they touched every corner of my heart. They live in the poorest of poor conditions. They struggle each day and week to pay for food, to buy water and to pay their electricity bills and rent. They also have to struggle to find high school fees for some students. This home has no corporate or governmental donors and relies solely on the generosity of well-wishers (of which there are not many!).

Here is how YOU can help. In 35 days I am leaving Australia, with my final destination of Kenya. I wish to be able to take as much donation money as possible, directly to the children, to be able to buy them a few months worth of food.

I am seeking 35 people to donate a once-off payment of $18. This will pay for one of the 35 children’s food for 1 month. This is the equivalent of 60 cents per day. What would $18 buy you here? Not much...but in Kenya...it buys one month of life!

Please contact me ASAP if you are able to donate to this cause. sjross77@hotmail.com

I speak on behalf of some of my African family in saying...
‘Thengui Muno’! (Thank you very much!) I guarantee that 100% of the proceeds will go to ensuring these children have food for at least the next month!

$18= 1 Month= 1 Child
