Well...I thought in the past I had had what could be termed 'a steep learning curve'...HOW WRONG have I been in the past!!! I have learnt more here in the past 5 days than I would say I have in the past 5 years.
We have been learning lots of different things- from learning about ourselves, to life in the mission field, to new things about 'third-culture kids' that we will be teaching overseas! We have learnt strategies for how to learn a new language, learnt about our own culture and that of other cultures. We have learnt about fear and risk and all the things associated with moving overseas into places that are different than our own as well as about our personality types.
I have met some AMAZING people too. We are heading out all over the world to the following countries:
* Kenya
* China
* Ecuador
* Spain
* Philippines
* Hungary
*Austria
* Taiwan
* Pakistan
* Czech Republic
Just to name a few...!
So...I've met people who are 'crazy', just like me and who are moving to places very unknown.
It has also been great to meet some people from my new school and get to know them a bit too. Am having an American cultural lesson as well!
It is amazing how God puts us in places where we need to be, when we need to be in them. It is wonderful to have met so many people who are going through the same feelings and learning as I am! Wooohooo! Will write again soon. x
