At the end of last year I decided that I wanted to try and grasp the basics of Swahili! I wasn't sure about how to do this but loved the idea of trying to learn with others. After much searching I found a Swahili language course at the university of QLD that was taking enrolments for this year! I enrolled and have attended several classes so far!
It is wonderful to have met some other volunteers at the course who have been in Kenya and Tanzania! Awesome to meet other people who share my passion near to where I live! The course goes for 12 weeks every wednesday night and our tutor is a lovely Kenyan man who is now an Aussie citizen!
I love going each week and enjoy hearing the language spoken well! I hope that I am able to learn a few useful things.
