One of the wonderful things about finally being 'employed' in Africa is that my school is applying for a work permit for me!!! For any of you who have been and had to deal with any African immigration services..it's an experience which is what you may call 'frustrating'!!! Things work very much on 'African time' and often require multiple visits to fill out exactly the same forms that you did the weeks before...or waiting for something for 2 months longer than expected!!! BUT....NO MORE NYAYO house visits to immigration for me!!! PRAISE God! :)
I received an email from one of the staff members at my new school with a list of documents to get witnessed and photocopied 3 times each! I must say that I felt very sorry for the older man who had to sign way over 30 pieces of paper!!! I still have a few more documents to organise before I express post them to Kenya. I am hoping that over the next week I will be able to do that! Woop! Getting very exciting now!
